The Crawl and Bite Experience

Explore must-eats at Box Hill Central, in partnership with Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.

For years, Melbourne Food & Wine Festival has shared the tastiest parts of great neighbourhoods and destinations all over Victoria. Now, for the first time the Festival will be coming to Box Hill Central with the return of a Festival favourite, the Crawl and Bite.

The itinerary has been designed by Melbourne-based chef, author and Box Hill Central fan, Rosheen Kaul, who has spent years eating and shopping her way around the centre. She will also host the first two tours on Sunday 22 & 29 March, as part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival program, with the remainder guided by expert hosts from Flavourhood Tours.

“Box Hill is home to some of Melbourne’s most vibrant Asian eats and unique regional fare, all conveniently located under one roof”, says Rosheen.

“Our Crawl and Bite tours of Box Hill Central visit some of my top picks from this cornucopia of flavour. We’ll sample the textural wonder of baozi filled with a mix of braised pork and fresh mince from the historic Henan province, stop for a generously fluffy sweet treat and perhaps pick up a spicy icked snack or two along the way.

“You could (and should) spend days just eating your way through Box Hill but allow me to show you some of my favourites first!”.

Running every Sunday at 11:30am from 22 March until 5 July (excludes Easter Sunday 5 April).

Tickets are $54 (inc. GST), which includes a guided walk through the centre with six spots along the way with the snacks at each spot included in the ticket price.

The tour will visit Ms Bean for a pastry, Phoenix Deli for a chilled snack, Hui Hui Supermarket for fresh fruit or sweets, Henan Steet Food for dumplings, Tina’s Noodle Kitchen for a bowl of noodles, and finish at Oski Soufflé for a sweet treat.
