The Asia-wide bestselling dessert - Japanese cheese tart, has come to Box Hill to cater to a wide range of customers!

Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart settled in Box Hill Central just before last Christmas. It is located by the rear door opposite to Australian Post. This stall serves authentic Japanese cheese tarts and premium Sensory Lab coffee. The owner - David, says he would like more Melbournians and Chinese immigrants to know and like his dessert.

Japanese cheese tart is so popular with East and Southeast Asian customers. In Hong Kong, people have been lining up all day to purchase cheese tarts of a limited number per person. In Taiwan - a place very acceptive of Japanese trend, people also enjoy cheese tarts quite much. The flavour of cheese tarts is different from ordinary egg tarts: only one bite will fill your mouth with rich milky fragrance of premium cheese, along with a little sweet and sour. One cheese tart and a coffee are enough to make a decent quick breakfast, both of which you can get at Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart!

All cheese tarts sold from Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart are freshly made. After tarts are taken out of oven, the staff girls will carefully put a paper cup for each of them, and then neatly arrange them on a large flat tray for cooling down. Looking through the display window, the finished tarts seem so attractive and luscious with their golden colour.

One of the staff members - Maki, is Chinese born in Japan. This trilingual girl is good at paper folding, and she decorates the stall with lovely hand-made paper cranes. If you like these little things, why not asking Maki to make one for you at next visit?

老板David是香港人,他介绍说,芝士挞在香港是大受欢迎的人气甜品,而且每日供应量有限,人们通常排队数小时才能买到一盒。日本芝士挞在台湾也是家喻户晓的,只是目前在大陆还不太常见。David这次选择博士山这个墨尔本最大的华人聚居区开店,便是希望能够把这款流行甜品介绍给更多墨尔本的中国移民。

Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart的芝士挞均是现烤现卖,细心的员工会为每一只烘焙完成的芝士挞套上白色的小纸托,再整齐的码放在一张大烤盘上,金黄的色泽伴随着扑鼻而来的香甜气息,着实诱人食指大动。除了供应美味的芝士挞,David还花高价购入了一台咖啡研磨机,并且选用墨尔本当地品牌Sensory Lab的优质咖啡豆,希望能为博士山商场的顾客们提供最完美的用餐选择。

出生在日本的中国姑娘Maki是这间店的员工,她用一双巧手折出了一只只大大小小的千纸鹤摆放在角角落落,为Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart大方现代的装修风格平添了一抹俏皮古风。下次去买芝士挞时若觉得喜欢,不妨问问她能不能叠一只送给你?
