Sushi Jiro in Box Hill Central finally opened!

Located at the South Precinct of the shopping mall, Sushi Jiro is the real deal for a sushi train restaurant. A long queue during the Grand Opening made it one of the most popular dining places in the area.

The chef, Mr Koji, is a tall man with a bright personality. He has more than 25 years of experiences in the preparation of sushi. With his exquisite craft skills, he is good at making both sushi and traditional Japanese dishes. Mr Koji introduced to us the food preparation concept of Sushi Jiro. In Japan, sushi is a staple food for the Japanese. In Australia however, people tend to regard sushi as salad or snack, instead of the main course. Sushi is oil-free and small in size. It coincides with modern people’s idea of a healthy lifestyle, and therefore popular around the world.

Sushi Jiro restaurant is divided into two areas - a dining area and a takeaway area. In the dining area, there are two sushi trains. Those with baby carriages may choose to sit around a much more spacious table for four. The sushi rolls and Japanese salads in the takeaway area are all freshly made. Diners also have the options of vegetarian and gluten-free sushi rolls, salads and sauces, and to order personalised sushi rolls by selecting their favourite ingredients.

The dynamic presentation of a sushi train brings out life, and arouses appetites. Sushi Jiro pays much attention to nutrition through ingredients. For example, they use preserved brown rice instead of refined white rice. Pointing towards the display window, Mr Koji explained that he spent a lot of time on the design of the sushi. Meanwhile, the colourful sushi rolls neatly displayed on the table look delicious!

Sushi Jiro opens daily from 11:30am to 8:30pm. During the winter season, they serve only a limited supply of yummy Bluefin tuna sushi rolls, made from the most essential and high-quality part of the fish belly. In addition, the Yuba (tofu skin) series of sushi is quite tasty too.

Sushi Jiro in Box Hill Central

馋涎欲滴了很久,Box Hill Central(博士山商场)的Sushi Jiro(寿司次郎)终于开张了!

坐落在商场南区大门边,Sushi Jiro是地地道道的回转寿司店。开业当天,店门口就有众多迫不及待的人们排起了长队,人气真是旺到不行啊!

主厨Koji先生是一位身材高大、性格爽朗的日本汉子。他有着二十五年寿司制作经验,手艺精湛娴熟,不仅仅是寿司,经典的日本菜肴他也样样都做得来。边说边笑中,他向我们介绍了Sushi Jiro的食品制作理念。寿司是日本人的一种主食,但在澳洲,人们倾向于把寿司视作一种沙拉,或说一种区别于主菜的“小食”。寿司在制作中是不放油的,而且分量轻小,几口就能吃掉一个,这跟现代人注重营养均衡、维持健康体态的理念相吻合,因而,日本寿司在世界范围内受到了广泛的追捧。

Sushi Jiro的店面设计便是基于这一理念,划分成了两个功能区——就餐区和外卖区。在就餐区设有两条回转寿司“火车”,前来就餐的人们可以围着坐一圈;推着婴儿车的顾客则可以坐在店铺里更宽敞的四人方桌上。在外卖区出售新鲜的寿司和日本沙拉,全部都是店里员工现做现卖的。除了可以购买橱窗里和菜单上现有的寿司,顾客们还能自行选定所喜欢的食材,下单订制个性化的寿司。针对有特殊需求的素食者和蛋白质过敏者,Sushi Jiro更是专门准备了素食及不含面筋的寿司、沙拉、酱油,从主食到配料都贴心的考虑到了,难怪这家店这么受欢迎呢。

Koji先生说,来他的店里用餐既能吃饱,又能吃好。回转寿司本身就是一种活泼、动态的美食呈现方式,能激起人们的食欲。在食材的选择方面,Sushi Jiro也十分注重健康,如用营养保存完整的棕米取代一般的精制白米等等。Koji先生指着外卖橱窗中的寿司解释道,他在寿司的外观设计上也费了一番心思。红的、黄的、紫的、绿的寿司整齐的码放在整洁明亮的台面上,看着就让人食指大动呢。

Sushi Jiro的营业时间是从每日中午11:30至晚8:30,中间无歇业时间。因为最近是澳洲的冬季,店里推出了一种限时供应的蓝鳍金枪鱼寿司,这种寿司是只取鱼腹部最为精华、优质的部位,所以口感是一流的。此外,店里贩售的腐皮(豆腐皮)系列寿司也是相当的好吃。有时间的话,你也过来尝尝看吧!
