Centre Update 06/08/2020

Our essential stores and services remain open

Following government direction, from Thursday 6 August, only essential stores and services will be open for you to shop for the products and services you need.

Essential stores that remain open include:

All other retailers and sections of Box Hill Central will temporarily close.

Some stores may offer contactless click and collect and delivery services. For more information about contactless click and collect please contact the retailer directly.

The health and safety of our customers, retailers, team and community is always our highest priority.

Our safety measures remain in place, to ensure our centre is safe for those who rely on the service our retailers provide. These measures include:

  • Physical and digital signage reminding customers to keep a safe distance apart
  • Increased sanitisation and cleaning of all customer touch points and high traffic areas
  • Hand sanitiser available in centre
  • Closures of playground and kids rides and the closure of massage chairs, until further notice

Please ensure that when you visit, you:

+ Plan your shopping trip and use the closest entry to the store you are visiting

+ Keep a healthy distance from other customers and team members

+ Ensure you wear a mask or face covering

+ Maintain good hygiene including washing your hands or using the hand sanitiser provided

+ Shop on your own, and only for an hour

And remember, if you are unwell, please stay home.

Centre Update 28/07/2020

In line with Government direction, you must now wear a mask or face covering during your visit to our centre.

Help our community stop the spread of COVID-19 by keeping a healthy distance from each other.

And remember, if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not enter the centre

*Face masks and coverings are now compulsory for everyone over the age of 12 when you’re out in public.

*This excludes people who cannot wear a mask for a medical reason. You may be asked to provide documentation to support this to our team, or to bring that documentation along with you next time you visit us.

Centre Update 27/07/2020

Our team has been notified of a confirmed case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in a team member who last worked at Selene's on Thursday 16th July, 2020.

The team at Selene's is continuing to work closely with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and, as a precautionary measure, the store will be thoroughly cleaned and is currently closed with all staff members self-isolating.

We have received no advice which indicates there was any risk to our customers or retail team members who visited Box Hill Central.

We have also increased our cleaning roster since learning of the case, with additional focus on specific areas including handrails, toilets, door handles, sinks, change tables and parents’ rooms, as well as communal furniture throughout the centre. This will continue for the foreseeable future.

We want to assure you and your teams, the safety and wellbeing of our customers, retailers and the broader community is always our priority and we are continuing to monitor and act upon recommendations from our federal and state health departments.

The advice from authorities is for anyone showing signs of an infectious disease, including fever, sweats or chills to see a doctor immediately.

Precautionary measures include washing hands and covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

Centre Update – 21/07/20

Centre Update 7/7/2020

Shopping centres play an essential role in our community, providing you with access to essential household items, products and services that you need during this time. A number of our restaurants and cafés will be offering delivery and takeaway services. Please see individual stores for details at this time.

We continue to operate within the guidance set out by government and relevant health authorities, this includes current advice to close:

  • Entertainment venues, including cinemas
  • Restaurants, cafes and pubs (However takeaway services will be available. Please continue to refer to this page for takeaway service providers.)
  • Gyms

We will endeavour to update our store listings online with amended trading hours, and any store closures in a timely manner, so you can stay informed.

Physical distancing measures are in place across our centre to help protect our community from the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Practicing good hygiene and keeping a healthy physical distance between individuals is our most powerful weapon in fighting this virus, we ask all visitors to adhere to these measures.

We know there is community concern about Coronavirus (COVID-19), and we are proactively taking measures to ensure our centre continues to be a safe place to visit and work.

The safety and wellbeing of our customers, retailers, teams and the broader community is always our priority and, as a result, we have increased our cleaning roster with additional focus on surfaces which we know people are making regular contact with.

Current advice from authorities is for anyone showing signs of an infectious disease, including fever, sweats or chills to see a doctor immediately and self-isolate.

Good hygiene practices
While visiting the centre, please help us keep our community safe by following the below good hygiene practices:

  • Wash hands regularly, including after touching common surfaces and after coughing or sneezing.
  • If you happen to cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, then dispose of it, or if you do not have a tissue, cover your mouth and nose with your upper sleeve.

We are continuing to monitor and act upon the information being shared from our federal and state health departments.
